In anticipation

of future memory...

Today, I say

do you remember that day?

In the cool wetness 

of spring rain

We walked among verdant green.

Life was exploding

on the ground

on the rocks

in the trees.

Bright sun to our backs

looking east to dark clouds

that magical

and mysterious 

space of light

when the sky was dark

and angry with swirls of moisture.

Never before

had we seen such extensive

lighting

and mood

and intensity.

Thanks for sharing it.

Thanks for being there.

It was memorable

gazing out over the hill 
wondering what 
shall become of me still 

wondering why 
I am in this place 
alone 
without company to grace 

wondering why 
throughout my life 
under the open sky 
why I had such strife 

wondering why 
such waste 
could not have been 
gone with much more haste 

yet every hardship is 
a stepping stone in life 
a step, or a leap 
away from that strife 

So, I sit alone 
watching the sun set 
over on yonder hill 
thinking of one 
that with love 
my heart does fill
